Wildlife Wealth
A commercial beef cattle, sheep feedlot, rabbitry, game and meat processing enterprise.
Our Story
In 2016, Wildlife Wealth was established to focus on the market need to supply consistent, safe, quality products that exceed consumer expectations. Wildlife Wealth owns and operates many of the key steps of the sheep, rabbitry, beef meat as well as game farming production process, starting from feed, grass, grains and fodder production, livestock production from Parent Stock to grow-out, slaughter, processing, further processing, marketing, transport, distribution and retail.
Vertical integration enables Wildlife Wealth to reduce its dependence on suppliers and its exposure to margin volatility as a result of changes in raw material prices. This is particularly important in developing markets such as South Africa where there are generally higher risks of supply interruption and price volatility. In addition, Wildlife Wealth’s vertical integration provides synergies across a broad spectrum of functions and reduces per unit costs. Integration practices not only improve cost efficiency but also increase Wildlife Wealth’s ability to control the quality of inputs for its operations and the quality and consistency of the meat it produces.
The Wildlife Wealth Information System is a project to automate farming operations throughout its value chain and ecosystem. It initially was designed for Wildlife Wealth, but later commercialised to offer the solution to other players in the sector. The project built an Enterprise Farm Management System which automates and digitizes the Farming Ecosystem taking advantage of the latest technology trends including Mobile Technology, Cloud, Analytics and Internet of Things. By developing and deploying eFarming technology (Smart Agri Technology), Wildlife Wealth provides traceability from the farm of origin to the end user and supply feedback to all parties involved. The information generated in this seamless supply chain is used to make immediate improvements in the production, processing, and marketing of products.
